National Book Festival, Washington DC

My husband got to the Washington Post before I did today and found information on a perfect family outing.  This Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, The National Book Festival will be held on the National Mall in Washington D.C.  This is a festival for families, readers and all lovers of books.  What a perfect way to spend a glorious fall day, enjoying not only the sights of our nation’s capitol, but being able to meet over 75 writers and illustrators on the Mall to talk about what they do and then autograph your books. You would be able to instill the love of reading in your child and what a thrill to be able to meet the author of one of your child’s favorite books.  Represented will be: authors for teens and children, authors who write Poetry and Prose, authors who write History and Biography, authors who write Mysteries and Thrillers, authors who write Fiction and Fantasy,  and authors who write exclusively for children.

For a complete list of authors who will be at the National Book Festival on Saturday, September 26, 2009, check this website. Once at the site, click on authors that you and your family are interested in and you will see the exact times that the author will be at the Mall and the exact times for book signing.

Not in the Washington DC but you are still interested in Book Fairs?   Here is a site that lists upcoming Book Fairs that will take place in not only all 50 states, but around the world as well.

Thank you so much for the SEpt. book fair news. It would be worth flying to D.C. for. I think it is something every parent or just anybody should take adv. of. m. I am going to check out the ones around the country. D. C. Mall is a free activity. I have seen some of these authors have lectures for $150 each. m.
