Ask Comprehension Questions When You Read To Your Child

Most parents read at least one book to their child every day, but do you take any time before, during, or after the story to talk to your child about the story? You should find an area in your home, free from distraction and create a special place for you and your child to read together each and every day.  The Irvine Unified School District in Irvine, California has come up with questions for you to ask your child as you read the story to him/her:

  • Questions to ask before you read
  • Questions to ask during the reading
  • Questions to ask after reading

Their website will open your eyes to what your child comprehends while listening to the story.
